Santa Fe police, running a sting operation Tuesday night at a downtown hotel, arrested a year-old girl and an adult woman from Albuquerque on prostitution charges. Andrea Dobyns. Dobyns said the point of the sting was not necessarily to ensnare prostitutes but to find out if young women or juvenile girls offering sex services on the Internet were victims of human trafficking.
In three cases women agreed to meet at the hotel. When she agreed to a sex act, she was arrested. The state juvenile probation office authorized her incarceration on a misdemeanor prostitution count. The mother thought the girl had stopped. The women were 20 or 22 years-old. Dobyns said the women were told police are concerned about their safety.
