I have visited Club Amigo at Marea del Portillo several times. The hotel is modest, but lovely. The staff are friendly and adequate, which is why I gave a two star rating. If I was rating based on the visible prostitution my rating would be a Between the first and third time I visited I noticed a huge increase in prostitution at the hotel. There was no attempt by the hotel, the Sunwing staff, or the single men visiting to be discreet.
On the day I arrived negotiations were being made between the visiting men and what I can only describe as the young women's pimp in the lobby of the hotel. We are all aware that the Cuba has a high rate of poverty, but the flagrant abuse of the young women of the surrounding communities was so sad.

Esperemos si algun dia decide regresar note los cambios y mejoras en todos estos aspectos que nos relaciona en su Opinion. We normally would not book a three star resort in Cuba, but friends had visited this resort in past years and recommended it.
What can I say, it is a very good choice! The resort is a solid three star; clean, comfortable, and friendly. The rooms are pleasant, air conditioning works quietly, and the mattress, while thin, was firm and comfortable. We upgraded to a cabana that had us at the more desirable lower Marea part rather the the upper Farillon. This was close to the beach and very quiet. The beach is dark sand and has some stones, but is neither too hot nor hard to walk on.
