We stayed at the treehouse for 2 nights and we loved it. This is a place of calm and rest where the nature is intact, respected and protected. Waking up and going to bed with the birds songs was what I loved the most. It was also a great pleasure to meet you Julia. All of this is located in the middle of nature, elephants, baboons and chimps regularly visit the premises. You can imagine the view and sounds from the treehouse are the best to wake up to. Perfect for adventurous people, backpackers and explorers, less so for people who desire luxury.
The location of Butterfly Cottage and the new platform accommodation immediately adjoining Kibale Forest National Park is so wonderful, with their forest and wildlife views. The birdlife in the pleasantly untamed garden was always absorbing, and the guided walk around the nearby swamp provided our experienced birding friends with yet more lifers. I particularly appreciated the open thatched "birding lounge" as the communal area, not to forget also the great breakfast omelets there!
And if you are interested in Uganda's natural history, conservation and community development, then you'll find Julia and her family great company. Prepare yourself for an unforgettable stay in the Turaco Treehouse. This place is so quiet and clean. Lovely environment and kind but unobtrusive staff. Just what we wanted. Great base for exploring Western Uganda. You are within two hours from 5 5 National Parks. Place is great.
Clean and new. Gated wall with multiple houses. Caretakers are on the scene to help but also give you space. Mosquito nets are on the beds, which were very comfortable. Resturaunt beside the compound. Great place for the price! The place located colse to kibale NP. The stuff was coperative and our stay there was plesent.
