Even thogh I am not an expert in the subject, i would like to share my experience with Bahrain. I used to travel often to many GCC countries between β for projects. We used to stay in the Manama hotels when we were in Bahrain. Many of my colleagues shred the same experience.
One of my female colleagues had a very bad experience from a stranger in hotel,he under estimate her as something else. We can see a lot of uncomfortable seens in some streats and a lot of stories from the staff residing in Bahrain. I believe we cannot find such pathetic state of morality any where else in the GCC.
The company I was going to work for in Saudi Arabia had me do visa processing in Bahrain. White, short, fat ladies in their 20s would be walking around the bars and behind them would be 7 foot tall, pound Russian men. Well there are lots of prostitutes in Bahrain but if you compare it to Dubai or Egypt, who knows who's going to win. It's famous for prostitution mainly because many Saudis and other GCC nationals visit for that reason only bunlike with Dubai and Egypt where you can assume that they are visiting for tourism as there are many attractions and tourist sites which they visit in those countries.
Expats also flood from KSA in weekends for drinks and sometime prostitution.. Most Bahrain citizens are against it and its frowned upon here. By reading the answers It seem to me that many people miss understand what is going inside GCC countries. For 6 months or so then leave and come back again and so on.
